The garden chair is a good example of Willy Guhl's maxim of achieving the optimum with little effort. The sculptural garden chair was already successful and adapted to the new way of life in 1955. Even at the Interbau in 1957 in Berlin, the Swiss garden chair was a much-respected star on the meadow in front of the Eternithaus.
