about this Item: | A rare side table designed by Alvar Aalto in combination teak wood and birch. Note the Y-shaped legs which continue from the actual leg in the upper portion in the longitudinal and transverse direction of the table. The bend at the upper end is formed in the layer timber technology developed by Aalto. Here, the respective ends of which should be combined are cut lamellar and combined in the bend individually, and then glued together. The result is a permanent bend, which will not - as with one made of plywood leg - later desintegrate in the layers. Apart from this technical advantage you have to keep the aesthetic appeal in mind. This table appears because of processing, combination of wood and the design in very high quality. |
