Anton Lorenz was the gray eminence of tubular steel furniture in Germany in the 1920s and 30s. He knew how to acquire the patents of Breuer, Luckhard, Lengyel and others through his participation in various companies and sell them to THONET together with the services of his own person. His main activity was patent protection, his office supervised manufacturers worldwide for protection violations. Some designs are attributed to him, especially for the THONET catalog "Stahlrohr für Jedermann" from 1935. So also the offered here armchair, which is in good original condition.
