The triumph of Eames fiberglass furniture began with first prize in a competition for low-cost furniture, advertised by the MOMA in New York in 1953. Our example dates back to the 1970s and was certainly manufactured by VITRA, the European licensee of the Herman Miller Collection from the USA. Professional cleaning would certainly help the cover since the hopsack cover is made of plastic and hardly picks up dirt. If you want, you can use it as is and see the correct age patina.

with traces of wear. The Eames chair from the 1970s is slightly stained in the original cover. Original in all parts and quite rare in this configuration. After all, the H bases were used in low for waiting groups. In order to ensure upright sitting, double shock mounts were used at the rear, as is also the case here. The foam padding is still flexible and the chair is fully usable.
