about this Object:
Wilhelm Kienzle, a member of the Swiss Werkbund and a well-known designer in Switzerland, probably designed the colonial chair Mod. 28 also called SAFARI around 1945. He took up the suggestion of an English draft for overseas officials from the 19th century and delivered his version of it after the war for housing needs. The chair subsequently became the epitome of non-conformist living. Our specimens come from an artist household and show strong age patina in the leather.
