Here we offer elegant furniture design by the first star female designer from Germany after World War II. As an interior designer, Prof. Herta Maria Witzemann redesigned Sep Ruf's Chancellor's Bungalow in Bonn. She was given numerous public and private commissions, including the Kurhaus and the casino in Baden-Baden, and much more. The zenith of her fame was in the 1960s, when she suddenly became a prominent and much sought-after force in the male-dominated field of architecture. Women in post-war design and architecture received far too little attention. Prof. Herta Maria Witzemann is a shining example; her designs for architects such as Wilde and Spieth in Esslingen were groundbreakingly modern in the early post-war period in Germany.
