Marcel Breuer designed the tubular steel armchair for his friend Wassily Kandinsky in 1925. That's why the name Wassily. The "Wassily armchair" was the Bauhaus answer to the task of a "comfortable" armchair. Ise Gropius proudly showed her "Wassily" with iron thread cover, balanced on the top in the advertising film about the master houses in Dessau and rotated it into the camera. This was to demonstrate the lightness and transparency of this piece of furniture. Since around 1980, the manufacturer Knoll International has the license and offers the furniture in the high-price segment in excellent quality. The current new price is € 2,153 the piece.
