about this Object:
The delicate armchair of the Bauhausler Selman Selmanagić shows the new dimension of living space in post -war Germany of the 1950s, whereby in this case there is no East or West - Germany specific dimension. The rooms were small everywhere and the furniture is petite. The armchair was very finely constructed and built by the most prominent and most traditional manufacture of the GDR, the German workshops Dresden Hellerau. New paths were taken in the material, as the frame consists of beech layered wood under steam, stable and permanently, very sustainable with low material thickness. The sculptural armchair with its transparent profile is comfortable due to the spring padding in the seat.
