Alvar Aalto designed this armchair, which is still in production today, in 1932. We offer two models from pre-war production.
The chair consists of two structurally emphasized armrest-leg elements and a seat-backrest unit made of bent plywood. The simplicity of the construction elements transports the essentially well thought-out design in an excellent way. This chair has everything it needs and nothing it doesn't. The contrast of the clearly constructed side parts to the organically curved seat unit gives this chair the classic beauty that distinguishes excellent design.
The chair is "spacious" and comfortable, light and even stackable. The chair is still produced by Artek Helsinki today.
2 chairs available, which we offer separately. You can find the second chair here.
