Industrial design in the GDR, a field that has received very little attention: Wrongly so, in our opinion. Here we from REIF Leuchtenbau Dresden are showing a work light that is typical of the time. The base plate has 4 holes to permanently screw the light on, as an alternative to the clamp that is also provided. The lamp is painted in matt black, typical of the time, and shows almost no signs of wear. The toggle switch is located in the Bakelite junction box at the bottom of the lamp arm. The lamp arm can be tilted and rotated using a ball joint in the lamp arm base. Lockable with large Bakelite wing nuts. A piece of gooseneck was used in the upper area of the lamp arm for flexible adjustment of the reflector. The design can be described as simply functional and not intrusive. The reflector's white pressed material and the black finish contrast very subtly with the white pressed material. The lamp has the 1 on the top of the reflector for first quality level, the products marked with 1 were often used for export.
