Description:
Here we offer a rare specimen of the CONQUEST model by LONGINES. One of the top models from LONGINES was the large CONQUEST AUTOMATIK, with date and original, striking stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp. Housed in a large, pillow-shaped stainless steel housing with a screwed-on back cover, a LONGINES caliber 431 ticks at a rate of 36,000 vibrations per minute. The central second hand glides silky smoothly, you will notice immediately that something is different here. The Cal. 431 belongs to the family of so-called high-speed transducers. Many mechanical movements always offered 18,000 vibrations, Longines doubled here! Our blue dial with the striking line indices, the second from the center, the original bar pointers and the date window at 3 o'clock has a screwed-in winding crown and quick-set date. These were characteristics that only few watch manufacturers had around 1970. Overall, our watch is in good condition, the high-speed oscillator caliber shows an amplitude of 226 degrees and an average gear of +10 seconds on the timing machine. Only the bezel, which can be rotated on both sides, does not seem to have an insert, the surface on the front is polished without any division.
