Description:

We offer NAVITIMER, the famous pilot's watch from 1968, in beautiful condition. Originally developed as a navigation aid for pilots, it is synonymous with the distinctive male wristwatch of the 1960s and 1970s. The 3-part, pressed stainless steel case is well preserved and shows only old traces of corrosion on the inside of the back cover. The red gold-plated movement VENUS Cal. 178 shines like on the first day, freshly serviced, the fine movement delivers a gait deviation with the crown down of -3 seconds a day and an amplitude of 248 degrees at 18,000 vibrations per minute. The dial shows fine age patina, the luminous material of the hands and dial are patinated and seem to belong together. Brightly contrasted subdials adorn the dark dial, the minute counter at 3 o'clock, the hour counter at 6 o'clock and the constantly moving second at 9 o'clock. The watch comes with a hand-sewn cowhide leather strap with bright contrast stitching and striking stainless steel pin buckle, as Kaufmann describes. The band has slight signs of wear. All in all a very nice classic in an increasingly rare, beautiful condition.
