Description:
Few quality movements have been designed and built at JUNGHANS in the Black Forest. The hand-wound chronograph movement JU 88 belongs up front to. This fine gilt work was still used in the pilot's chronographs of the fledgling Bundeswehr! Our specimen here is a civilian version with gold-plated case. The movement, case and dial / hands present themselves in the best condition, almost new!
The watch dates from the late 1950s, and in Germany mechanical watches were produced in comparable quality to Swiss products, it documents an era that has passed long.
3-piece, pressed down housing with gilded upper shell and pressed stainless steel - bottom. Flat, rectangular pushers and gilded crown. The dial is silver with printed Arabic numerals, outside a telemeter and printed tachymeter scale. The chronograph - pointer comes from the center, the minute counter is located at 3, the continuously running second at the 9.
The dial shows immaculately and was eventually recoated.
