DESTA in Berlin was probably one of the first manufacturers of steel furniture in Germany from 1929 - 1932. The company belonged to Anton Lorenz, who in 1932 sold all patents to Thonet. The most interesting designs of DESTA came from the brothers Luckhardt, where Hans Luckhard delivered the main work. DESTA produced the modern furniture in very small editions by hand. Very few copies of DESTA have survived the time. Our bookcase comes from a writer, who had to leave Berlin in 1933. His landlord took over the furniture, from him we acquired the bookcase. The furniture is in surprisingly good original condition.
